Donald Sultan (b. 1951) is an acclaimed American painter, sculptor, and printmaker, particularly noted for his large-scale paintings which implement a range of industrial and non-art materials, including tar, latex, rubber, enamel, spackle, and vinyl. Since his first solo exhibition in 1977, Sultan has received many honors and awards, exhibiting his works internationally in prominent museums and galleries. His works are now held in the permanent collections of over fifty major international museums.
