Hyde Midtown Miami presents The Big Picture, curated in partnership with Manolis Projects Gallery, featuring works by a range of local and international artists.
Miami, FL - August 22, 2024- The Big Picture is curated in partnership with Manolis Projects Gallery and features works by a range of local and international artists. Among them is American artist Hunt Slonem, renowned for his Neo-Expressionist paintings of butterflies, bunnies, and tropical birds, often inspired by his personal aviary. His works add a vibrant and whimsical element to the exhibition, highlighting the interplay between art and nature.
Local art lovers are invited to celebrate the exhibition’s grand opening on Thursday, August 22nd with live entertainment and complimentary cocktails from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
Miami-based artist Sequoyah Burke-Combs invites introspection with a surrealist peony painting, while French artist Didier Audrat challenges perceptions of urban space through hyperreal sculptures of synchronized swimmers. Bruce Helander, a Florida Artists Hall of Fame recipient, explores themes of consumerism in his piece Macy’s Mickey Mouse. These grand themes are further exemplified by Maite Nobo, a Cuban-born artist spreading messages of hope and perseverance through her mixed media series, BIG.
Guests will also enjoy intimate meet-and-greet with exhibiting artists. The Big Picture is on view through November 2024, leading up to the hotel’s annual Miami Art Week programming. This exhibition is free and open to the public.
